For the comprehensive renovation of this 12-story, 320-key property, Baskervill’s design team was tasked with marrying Glendale’s incongruous essence with Renaissance’s hallmark intrigue. A jewel in the middle of the desert, Glendale’s surroundings are the epitome of contrast – scorching days and scintillating nights, arid deserts and lush farmland, and soft summer poppies and prickly pear cacti brought to life by the waters of the Arizona Canal.
The design brings the dichotomy of the local landscape to life, incorporating digital projections, artwork installations, and textural relief that draw on the desert’s hidden surprises. Jewel-toned accents pop against a sandy palette, evocative of the of surprising bursts of honey, sage, and rouge found when hiking through the hills of nearby Thunderbird Conservation Park. Forms and fabrics reminiscent of the bounding desert serve as a canvas where accents evoking the destination’s true beauty can shine.
The project is currently in design.
