Baskervill provided programming, planning, and design services for this spectacular nine-story, $41 million outpatient facility. The 218,000-sf building, situated between two existing healthcare buildings, was designed with flexibility in mind: adaptable floorplans and infrastructure systems allow Virginia Commonwealth University’s healthcare system to stay on the cutting-edge of healthcare design trends. The building houses outpatient clinics, a radiology clinic, short-stay beds, non-invasive procedure rooms, heart health stations, and space for staff and patient education. The seventh floor features an extensive transplant wing, while other floors offer a food court and commercial retail space. The building is a breathtaking addition to the city’s skyline and gives the university’s healthcare system a bold, and grand entrance to its campus.
