Since 2017, Baskervill has worked with Kaiser Permanente National Facilities Services as part of the KP Preferred Provider program for Architectural, Interior Design, and Engineering services across their middle Atlantic region.
After years of working on small projects for Kaiser Permanente, our full-service architecture, MEP, and interior design team was tasked to refresh 12,028-sf of space at KP’s Gaithersburg Medical Center. Challenged to fitout the existing 4th floor shell and create an area suitable for the needs of an OB/GYN clinic without competing with the existing design language, we reimagined the space to pay homage to Gaithersburg’s botanical gardens and prized peonies. In the waiting area, a captivating white rose light fixture sets the tone for the rest of the space. The design story continues in the operation zone, where floor transitions reminiscent of the cellular structure of a flower serve as a wayfinding tool guiding visitors throughout the clinic, while recta-linear architectural structures compliment the ongoing concept. A DIRTT glazed modular wall system was installed which provided a clean design and also assisted with expediting installation.
