The University of Richmond once had 73 IT help desk locations dispersed across campus. With the goal of consolidating its resources, the University renovated space within Jepson Hall to create a comprehensive Information Services suite. The renovation included one large help desk—a la Genius Bar—and individual desking for each of the 73 IT support employees. Behind the help desk, open “garages” store hardware that’s being worked on. Wayfinding graphics and lighting elements guide users through the space and lend a high-tech feel to the bustling space.
