Distinguished by its electric orange exterior, the newest addition to the gleeful grounds at The Faison Center is the aptly named Pioneer Hall. On the first floor, discover flexible lounge spaces, multiple offices, and three classrooms. Ascending to the “Paige Edmunds Clubhouse” on the upper level reveals an additional lounge, a convenient kitchenette, extra offices, and three more classrooms. Inside and out, a meticulously crafted sensory-sensitive environment incorporates thoughtful uses of color and texture. The bright, vibrant, and durable furniture not only elevates aesthetics but also enables adaptable arrangements for learning and compartmentalized activity in both the classrooms and flex spaces. The classrooms utilize acoustic paneling and high-performance tile ceilings to minimize background noise, echo, and reverberation. There are also smaller, more neutral alcoves and enclosed space providing respite from over-stimulation. This 12,000-square-foot adult programming center significantly expands The Faison Center’s capacity to fulfill its mission of improving the lives of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by increasing adult services by 200%.
