Working alongside lead architect Moseley Architects (then BAM Architects), Baskervill executed design of the new engineering and technology building at Virginia State University. The 77,000-sf, three-story classroom and teaching/research laboratory facility supports the departments of Engineering Technology, Computer Science, and Industrial Education and Technology. Public circulation through “Project Display” areas showcase VSU’s engineering program, while tiered auditorium-style learning spaces facilitate classroom engagement and discussion. The architecture respects the historic campus tradition while creating a state-of-the-art research and teaching facility. The building is LEED certified.
