Virginia Institute of Marine Science
In-concert with several specialty-design consultants—Baskervill is leading the charge for a 64,000-SF, new-build research laboratory. Its namesake, the esteemed Chesapeake Bay Hall, will be a state-of-the-art facility that includes both wet and dry labs, faculty offices, collaborative spaces, conference spaces, and work rooms to support the school’s aquatic science programs. The final design will prioritize sustainability and durability to provide a space that is welcoming and conducive to the coastal ocean and estuarine science research happening within the walls of the prestigious institution, which continues to be among the largest marine research and education centers in the United States. The project is currently in design.
