Working with a developer, Baskervill developed a comprehensive redevelopment master plan for Philadelphia’s Naval Shipyard. Totaling over 500 waterfront acres, the project sought to create a mixed-use hub that would take advantage of the site’s potential and proximity to the city center, expanding on the recent addition of Urban Outfitters’ campus. Taking into consideration an existing historic district and plans for transit, our plan called for a mix of uses – including multi-family housing, office, hospitality, recreation, retail and parking – as well as conservation and open spaces, parks, and trails, all configured into distinct “districts” lending walkability and human scale to each specific area.
