Baskervill served as architect of record for the conversion of a 10-story, 100-room Quality Inn and Suites into a 108-room Moxy Hotel in New Orleans’ Central Business District. Only the second U.S. location to open, the design worked with the building’s existing exterior cladding and added a statement canopy to showcase Moxy’s signature branding. Inside, the team worked with interior designers Stonehill & Taylor to marry the property’s existing floorplate with Moxy’s modern aesthetic and brand standards, which included select demolition and reconstruction of interior walls. Guestrooms and all public spaces, including restrooms, elevators, and food and beverage areas, received a complete renovation. The final design is an engaging blend of modern architecture and locally-influenced touches, geared toward a youthful, social guest experience – a trademark of the Moxy essence.
