Courtyard Asheville’s design captures the essence of the surrounding Balsam Mountains. On the windward side, where nature’s fury sculpts the terrain, the design features rugged finishes and tactile surfaces. Textured metal, weathered wood, and rough-hewn surfaces echo the mountain’s untamed spirit, while a shadowy color palette with deep mulberry and rich earth tones mirrors the interplay of light and shadow amidst towering trees and glistening ice.
In contrast, the leeward side, sheltered from the wind, basks in the sun’s warmth. Expansive windows and high ceilings in the Bistro Lounge will welcome natural light, while plush fabrics and reflective surfaces evoke the nurturing embrace of the sun. Intimate seating arrangements will encourage connection, with accent lighting overhead mimicking clouds.
Between these contrasting sides lies the mountain itself, a neutral ground offering visual rest and balance. The inviting bistro bar will be a focal point, crafted from textured wood and stone, marrying together the carved nature of the windward side and the lushness of the leeward side. Adjacent media pods will provide spaces for relaxation, blending the mountain’s dual nature into a serene, immersive experience.
