Baskervill has teamed with a Pittsburgh-based architect and Forbes Hospital leadership to create family and patient experience-based public spaces that will influence the design style for the entire Allegheny Health Network. Originally designed over 30 years ago, the renovated hospital will create a comfortable, inviting environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Baskervill’s flourishing and robust healthcare and hospitality studios joined forces to design the space. The lobby is set to be reminiscent of a “Great Room” and will feature a high-bay ceiling and fireplace. Support spaces will include a café, gift shop, ICU waiting area, and reception area. The lobby is designed to accommodate small and large groups as well as employees wanting to “plug in” and work away from designated workspaces. With the new design, Forbes will create a new identity and give people the opportunity to experience the hospital in a relaxing and uplifting way.
