Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront Named 2024 Gold Key Award Finalist

Baskervill is thrilled to announce that the Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront has been honored as a 2024 Gold Key Award finalist in the Lobby Focused Service category, recognizing the property as one of the most captivating hotel designs of the year. As the industry’s longest-running awards program for hospitality interiors, the Gold Key Awards presented by Boutique Design Magazine represent one of the highest honors in the sector. Being selected as a finalist from a pool of over 425 entries by top firms around the world is a true testament to the creativity, dedication, and hard work that went into making this one-of-a-kind project.

“Our goal was to capture that nostalgic feeling of beach days as a kid,” said Principal and lead designer, Patricia Lopez, CID, NCIDQ, LEED AP, “and this award proves it’s just as fun to experience as it was to design! It’s incredibly rewarding to know guests can relive that carefree spirit at the Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Being recognized for that accomplishment is just the cherry on top.”

This recognition celebrates the Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront’s success in blending nostalgic charm with modern design to create a destination for the young and young at heart rooted in the Moxy brand’s bold personality. The award underscores the impact of our team’s vision, where every piecefrom the vintage beach chairs to sea creature-themed art installationswas curated with intent to enhance the guest experience, offering a fresh take on seaside hospitality.

Winners across the 24 categories will be revealed and celebrated during BDNY’s highly anticipated awards night. Baskervill is thrilled to be part of the excitement with our very own booth at the conference—don’t miss a sneak peek of Salone on social media!
