What makes a community thrive? Is it the buildings that shape it, or the connections they foster? At Baskervill, we believe it’s both—and no one understands this duality better than our newest Design Director, John Lang, AIA.
Joining Baskervill’s Mixed-use/Multifamily Studio, John’s extensive experience in design leadership, project coordination, and client management began in his first role as owner/partner of a design-build firm. Over his career, he has guided projects from early visioning and feasibility studies to master planning and density analysis. With a deep background in market-rate housing and large-scale developments, John excels at aligning design with owner and stakeholder goals. His expertise in construction strategies like mass timber, modular, and prefabrication symbolizes his commitment to innovation and efficiency. These methods are known to reduce environmental impact while enhancing project value, showcasing how John’s work addresses both immediate needs and long-term aspirations.
“Smart design starts with understanding people’s needs and finding innovative ways to meet them. Mass timber and prefabrication are just a few techniques to push boundaries while creating impactful spaces. I’m excited to explore these strategies in new opportunities at Baskervill.”
John brings a unique blend of expertise to the mixed-use/multifamily team, shaping the studio’s approach to meeting the industry’s evolving demands while delivering value-driven solutions. Focused on expanding the firm’s presence, John will spearhead new opportunities and strengthen client partnerships with his signature collaborative approach.
