Financial stability isn’t just a business goal; it’s the cornerstone of our firm’s growth. That’s why Baskervill is thrilled to announce the appointment of Edward Darr as our new Chief Financial Officer.
Edward’s career is a testament to his adaptability and dedication. After graduating from Notre Dame, he excelled in financial leadership roles across various segments of the A/E/C industry, including architecture, real estate development, and consulting. He sought opportunities in Boston and Richmond, gaining valuable experience from his tenure at AECOM, Leggette, Brashears & Graham (now WSP), and Timmons Group. Following many years in accounting for firms large and small, his leadership as South Unit Controller at Mercer in Atlanta saw him overseeing financial operations for the entire Southeast region. Now, his move to Baskervill brings him back to Richmond and the A/E/C industry.
At Baskervill, Edward is poised to shape the firm’s financial future by focusing on stability, diversification, and growth. He finds great satisfaction in the diverse responsibilities his role entails, collaborating closely with departments like HR, marketing, and IT to drive informed decisions that enhance the firm’s operations. His involvement spans across critical areas such as contracts, insurance, and employee benefits, ensuring his continuous engagement with the business’s multifaceted needs.
Reflecting on his new role, Edward stated, “I’m excited to join Baskervill and look forward to collaborating with such a talented team. Together, we’ll forge a path that supports the firm’s lofty ambitions. In every new challenge lies an opportunity for growth. I’m ready to tackle these opportunities head-on and help shape a robust and prosperous future.”
“Edward’s vast industry experience and innovative approach to financial management will be instrumental to continue propelling our firm forward,” said Baskervill CEO, Bob Clark. “His leadership will undoubtedly strengthen our financial foundation and drive us towards new opportunities as we expand geographically and strategically. We’re thrilled to have him on board and look forward to the remarkable impact he’ll make.”
When he’s not crunching numbers, Edward enjoys spending time outdoors with his family—whether it be hiking, skiing, or cheering on his alma mater from the football stands. Welcome to the team, Edward!
